VMware Serverで仮想マシンを起動しようとするとout-of-dateエラー

VMware Serverで仮想マシンを起動しようとrすると

You have started VMware Server with an out-of-date copy of the application. VMware Server cannot power on virtual machines using this copy (version 2.0.0). To power on this virtual machine, run VMware Server from the default location.

が表示され、仮想マシンが起動しない。

VMware Serverはホームページ上のものと同じ2.0.2で最新だし、
他の仮想マシンは問題なく起動するので何故だろうと思って調べたところ、以下のサイトがヒットした。

ここに書いてある、仮想マシン一覧からエラーの出るマシンを一旦削除して、再び同じマシンを追加するとエラーが出なくなった。
